Trump, with his weak to nonexistent grasp of truth, would be a fool to talk to Mueller. Personally, I hope he believes he can act as he's always acted and bluster and bully his way through an interview. Unfortunately, as much as I dislike Giuliani, I don't think he's dumb enough to allow Trump to be interviewed. I think the White House leaking the set of questions may be the first step in trying to create an atmosphere that allows them to avoid an interview.

First Look at Health Insurance Coverage in 2018 Finds ACA Gains Beginning to Reverse
This pretty clear evidence that Republicans don't care whether Americans have affordable health care or not. Particularly telling is the significantly higher rate of uninsured in states (like Texas) that didn't expand Medicaid. Of course, this means that lower income groups are far more likely to be without insurance, because Medicaid is a major source of health insurance for both the working and nonworking poor.

The Federal Budget Outlook: Even Crazier After All These Years
The problem is that the fuzzy math the Republicans used to keep the budget with in the required bounds (bounds they placed on themselves, I might add)--making the personal tax cuts temporary, but --wink, wink--suggesting they would later be made permanent--makes the problem worse. But the Republicans won't have to own up to this fact for a while, unless the mainline media begin asking the right questions.

Pompeo’s Early Days and New Hires at State Show Promise
Are things actually looking up? Has Trump really appointed a competent Secretary of State or will Pompeo fall prey to the chaos surrounding a man who changes his mind about critical issues on a daily basis?

Banking Regulations Create Mess for Marijuana Industry, Banks, and Law Enforcement
If the administration wants to get rid of useless regulations, here's a good place to start. Legal marijuana retailers are subjected to unnecessary risks and banks are discouraged from providing a useful service to their customers.

The Real Villain Behind Our New Gilded Age
The absolute best analysis of our current economic situation that I have read lately. Some good advice, but are the people who could do something about it already in the pockets of the new robber barons?
On a personal note I found this passage relevant to my own situation:
"And regulators need to get more aggressive with tech monopolies and stop them from absorbing innovative rivals. Facebook’s market power is what makes scandals like Cambridge Analytica possible. Senator Lindsey Graham nailed it with a question that Mark Zuckerberg could not answer: “If I buy a Ford, and it doesn’t work well, and I don’t like it, I can buy a Chevy. If I’m upset with Facebook, what’s the equivalent product that I can go sign up for?”"

The National Press's Unwillingness to Speak theTruth in the Interests of "Balance" is the Reason We're in this Predicament Right Now.
"Contrary to what several prominent journalists said, the transcript shows that Michelle Wolf did not make a single joke at the expense of Sarah Huckabee Sanders’s physical appearance. Rather, she did something much worse in the eyes of those assembled: She ridiculed the White House press secretary’s mendacity, hypocrisy and complicity. And in a searing, brutally funny segment, she criticized the willingness of the press to play along..."

Truth Has Stopped Mattering in the Russia Investigation
The sheer volume of evidence of collusion has become a smokescreen for Trump's enablers. When did the Republican Party become fellow travelers?
