He's Back!

It's been a while since I last posted. Some of you have probably quit checking and may not not know I'm posting again. I've been busy with all kinds of stuff. Traveling (twice to Chicago in the winter, no less) and settling in to my new job--well, my old job for less pay and less hassle. In November, I went back to work for the Fed part time. I can work only 15 hours per week on average during a calendar year. Most of my time so far has been spent on finishing up revisions to a course I used to teach to examiners outside the U.S. From now on I'll be doing more work directly for the Chicago Fed. I work mostly at night, so part-time work hasn't cut into my golf. I'm playing a little less now that the newness of my retirement has worn off, but I still play about twice a week on average. I played 17 times in January and February, even with the two trips to Chicago (last year I played 30 times in January and February).

There will be a flurry of posts to follow this one and then I'll try to do a better job keeping current.

Ginger

No post would be complete without some pictures of super puppy. Ginger loves to relax in one of our recliners. We think it is because she can see out both the front and the back from there. Here's a picture.

She also likes to burrow into our pillows.

Sun City Wildlife

We like our location a lot.  Our development is on the outskirts of Georgetown and very rural along the edges. While we have close neighbors on both sides, there is no house across the street or behind.  We back on to a couple of hundred yard strip that is kept in its natural state. On the other side of that is the 11th hole of the new golf course. Across the street we can see hole number three of the second golf course.

Sun City has kept a lot of areas "native" and we have a lot of wildlife. Deer are so plentiful that we have to remove 100-200 every year. Some of them go to ranches and some are "processed" and the meat given to local shelters. In addition to deer we have coyotes, turkey, armadillos, fox, and skunk--and rattlesnakes. Fortunately we don't see many of these critters except for deer and turkey. Here are some pictures I took from our patio. We have deer and turkey feeding in our back yard almost every night. The turkey come right up to the house, but the deer are a little more skittish.

Georgetown

Although when someone asks where in Texas I live I usually say "Austin," we actually live in Georgetown, TX, about 25 miles north of Austin. It's the county seat of Williamson county. Here are some shots of the courthouse square.

Grandkids

Here are some up to date pictures of the cutest kids in the world. We don't see the five in Chicago much and two them are so young that they are changing fast, so we miss being there for all that's happening.

Here are the two oldest:

The Chicago girls.

Our Little Longhorn.

And the youngest.
